My newest style of mug is an exploration in simplicity of form - the body of the mug is a wheel thrown cylinder with a handle which is pulled directly from the body of the mug and adhered to the bottom with a firm push from my fingers

but it is beautiful just as it is

I don't use templates as I carve- I look to accentuate the form

The glazing style is a single color brushed glaze the natural variance in how loaded the brush is with color variates the surface. Over this the mug is dipped in a matte white, which allows the color to bleed through in the firing process.
