Top compartment opens down and two compartments that open on the bottom with an additional compartment for the ink well. (No contents or bottles included). A very rare and exceptional example of an early lap desk. This was from the days where this was a necessity for everyone to have to keep writing supplies in. Measures 30. 6cm wide x 21cm deep
