The tight nest of pins works together forming a rubber surface patch that handles the harder surfaces and resists wear due to their proximity. The landing "Falcon" shape arrived after experimenting and prototyping with different techniques for side bite stability. For the pins to work together in the center, connecting bars were added to resist pin flex
