Because this filter is larger and less restrictive than the OEM Mazda filter, there is less stress put on the fuel pump. Lower pre filter pressures permit less current draw and thus lower fuel temperatures. This phenomenon permits an increase in fuel flow. NOTE: The filters can withstand alternate fuels such as methanol, ethanol, E85, etc. The factory Mazda fuel filter is plumbed between
