This 2008 is a little difficult to work out at the moment

The bunches on average were loose and the berries small

(from 90+ year old vines that are worked by horse)

but it also has the pedigree and beautiful inner structure for long cellar aging

The Barolos are vinified in stainless steel

Bellevue Mondotte other_regions_italy This 2008 is a littleRuby red. Roasted plum, toffee, game and nutty oak on the nose. Lush, fat and stuffed with fruit. A wonderfully pliant 2002 with noteworthy density and richness. Sound acids and suave but firm edged tannins give this excellent balance. Finishes very long and ripe. This is even stronger than it appeared to be from barrel last spring. Stephen Tanzer
