Imagine you are a 22 yr old Soviet artillery officer under pressure from your Soviet General (with the political officer looking over your shoulder) while trying to use this device to determine critical mathematical calculations and avoid the consequences of friendly fire on your front-line comrades (not that the political officer cared about that)

but may be operated mechanically by turning the key

Turn and Bank Indicator, (Wendezeiger) Luftwaffe, Fl 22402, Pneumatic Allison and shutter speed is adjustableThis is a fine example of an early WWII era German Wendezeiger (Turn and Bank) Fl 22402, as used in aircraft of the Luftwaffe, such as the Bf 109, Me 110, and Ju 87. Measures ~3 inches diameter and 5 inches deep. The glass and face markings are intact, as is the floating ball within the bank indicator.
